Here Is What They Are Saying

Monica Erdosh, LCSW

Auburn Psychotherapist Monica Erdosh, LCSW

With passion and compassion, my work as a therapist is about connecting with others.  Through this connection, we access the thoughts and feelings that make up the fabric of our individual lives.  I am honored daily to accompany my clients on their unique journeys through the joys and challenges of life.  My own life experience tells me that regardless of what we must face, we all long to experience joy and strive for a deeper sense of meaning.   Sometimes in our fast-paced lives, time to reflect, heal, explore and clarify is the most valuable gift one can give to the self.

They are many different approaches to healing and no one path is right for everyone. What matters is that we find a safe place to explore and untangle the cords that bind us to our traumas, affecting our lives in so many hidden ways. I am a holistic practitioner, believing deeply in our innate capacity to find our way to wholeness and vitality. I offer my full presence and believe deeply in the power of connection as a path to deepen self-awareness and expansion. Exploration of generational trauma along with learning about our unconscious and limiting belief systems paves the way to growth and deeper life satisfaction. What I Offer

Therapy & Yoga in Auburn

Relationship Work

Relationship is an extraordinary calling to explore one’s higher self as well as a deep connection with another. Too often, couples lose their ability to admire and connect with their partners because of unresolved and unconscious issues that create disappointment and resentment. Couples therapy is an invaluable resource that can save a wounded relationship and can enhance and deepen a solid and secure one. One of the most rewarding and challenging forms of therapy, both for therapist and client alike, I love my work with couples. It is rich and deeply rewarding for all the participants.

Teens

Teen-agers and parents alike face so many challenges in today’s fast-paced, technologically-influenced world. I learn as much about the world working with my teens as they learn from me! Many teens who were adamant about not coming to therapy decide it’s not so bad when they experience someone who earnestly wants to hear what they have to say. My teenage clients often see me for months and years, appreciating the opportunity to work through their feelings of anger and frustration while also having a place where they feel completely safe to talk.

The parents of my teenage clients also appreciate that they can learn how to communicate differently with their teens and that their relationships with each other improve dramatically. Teens need someone who is straightforward, honest, and respectful and above all, listens.

Yoga classes

Yoga

After more than 25 years of yoga practice I finally found the teacher training program that spoke to me. I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training program September 2024 through Channels of Healing. The breadth of this training provided the skills to teach yoga while also offering a deep connection to the more subtle and profound healing properties implicit in yoga.

From breathwork to sound healing, movement to stillness, anatomy to chakra study, my training deepened both my personal practice as well as my desire to offer yoga to my clients in all the different forms that are available and accessible to everyone.

The integration of psychotherapy and yoga can be a powerful healing tool. Through the practices of mindfulness, mediation and movement, we have the power to thrive, even in the midst of crisis or while dealing with trauma.

“When we teach, we learn.”

Experience

I began my private practice in 2000 and have worked extensively with all age groups, including many years working with children and teens. While I no longer work with children I continue to love my work with individual teenagers and adults.

My interest in intimate relationship work has deepened throughout the years and I have been informed by many leaders in this rich and challenging field. As important as our intimate relationships are, they can also be a source of deep pain, disappointment and trauma. I believe in the power of deep presence as a therapist and guide. I have been trained and informed profoundly by Esther Perel, Hedy Schleiffer, Terry Real, Alexander Soloman and many other brilliant and innovative thinkers.

About Me

I take my work seriously but I love to laugh and play. Hopefully our work together will inspire laughter, playfulness and a renewed energy towards life. I love to be outdoors, whether riding my bike, running, hiking, backpacking or some other form of adventure. Life is meant to be lived, not endured. I believe in the power of silence, the healing of yoga, the value of friendship and above all, the necessity to love deeply and wholeheartedly.
